The Sweetgrass–Coutts crossing connects Sweet Grass, Montana with Coutts, Alberta along the I-15/Highway 4 corridor. It is one of the primary land ports of entry between the northern Great Plains and southern Alberta, handling both passenger vehicles and commercial freight year-round.
Best times to cross: Weekday mornings are generally light. Peak periods occur during summer weekends when recreational travelers head to and from Alberta.
Lane types available: Standard passenger vehicle and commercial truck lanes. No NEXUS lanes at this crossing.
Northbound (US to Canada): I-15 cameras near Sweet Grass show road and traffic conditions approaching the port. Southbound (Canada to US): Highway 4 cameras south of Warner and at Coutts show the Canadian approach.
