The Bluewater Bridge connects Port Huron, Michigan with Sarnia, Ontario across the St. Clair River. The crossing consists of two spans — the original 1938 bridge and a newer 1997 bridge — making it one of the busiest US–Canada crossings in the Great Lakes region for both passenger and commercial traffic.
Best times to cross: Weekday mid-mornings and early evenings are generally lighter. Holiday weekends, especially around US Thanksgiving and Canadian long weekends, can cause significant delays.
Lane types available: Standard, NEXUS, and FAST commercial lanes. Both bridge spans carry traffic simultaneously during peak periods.
Southbound (Canada to US): Highway 402 cameras from Indian Road through Front Street show the full Canadian approach. Northbound (US to Canada): I-94 and I-69 cameras near Port Huron show US-side traffic feeding the bridge.
