The Champlain–Rouses Point crossing connects Champlain, New York with Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec along I-87 (Northway)/Autoroute 15. It is the primary crossing for travelers between the New York metropolitan area and Montreal, handling very high volumes of both passenger and commercial traffic year-round.
Best times to cross: Weekday mornings before 7am and after 8pm are lightest. Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons, and long weekends are peak periods. Summer and ski season consistently see the heaviest volumes.
Lane types available: Standard, NEXUS, Ready Lane, and FAST commercial lanes. One of the most fully-equipped crossings in the Northeast.
Northbound (US to Canada): The I-87 Northway camera at Champlain shows US-side queue depth. Southbound (Canada to US): Autoroute 15 cameras at Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle show Canadian-side approach conditions in real time.
