It is a key crossing for travelers between upstate New York and eastern Ontario, consisting of two spans connected via Hill Island. Best times to cross: Weekday mornings and early afternoons are typically the lightest. Summer weekends and tourist season bring increased volumes as travelers explore the scenic Thousand Islands region on both sides of the river.
